First steps, no question
Christmas Eve - and Bridget takes her first unsupported steps. More or less. In the last few days she has attempted increasingly frequent periods of standing unaided - thirty seconds or so at best. Today, two innovations were added to this circus act, to keep the parental audience enthralled. In the first place, Bridget demonstrated that she can get to her feet from a sitting start. In the second place, she took two very small shuffling steps forwards. Some would say they were more shuffles for balance than steps, but I know better. I had a box of Thornton's riding on her walking before Christmas, so they're steps. No question.
Pictures - at last
We have finally got organized enough to put up some pictures from the last few months. Hope you enjoy them and have a Happy Christmas.
Words, words, words
In the last few days, Bridget has discovered a whole string of words. Some of them are ones that she's had before, but we've only recently twigged to how consistently they are applied to the same thing. Lots of them are totally new. We have:
Bubbles
Teeth
Duck
Backpack
Bib
Cheese
Up
Down
Cup
Also a potential 'no' and 'wow' in there somewhere, but 'wow' might just be a nice noise.
'Dada' still seems to appear rather indiscriminately, rather than applying to Mike. 'Mummy' has yet to be used much at all!
Things Bridget likes doing
1. Walking, holding a parent's hand
2. Clapping
3. Going for walks in her backpack
4. Reading The very hungry caterpillar
5. Putting pieces of Sticklebricks together (we don't understand this fascination at all)
6. Drawing with pens and crayons on anything and everything that looks like paper
